The Art of Managing Humans by Tsvika Abramovitch Wins Two New International Book Awards

Israel, 12th Aug 2025, -

The Art of Managing Humans: Management Practices that Actually Work by Tsvika Abramovitch has been awarded the Difference Maker Award by Store with a Heart and the Book of the Week Award by Books for Humanity Global. The book had earlier received the Book Excellence Award from OneTribune Media.

The Difference Maker Award recognizes published works that, through evidence-based ideas and actions, have demonstrated the potential to contribute meaningfully to communities and systems. According to Store with a Heart, the award “recognizes books that exhibit the courage, foresight, and initiative to bring about significant change—whether on a worldwide or local level.” The organization noted that honorees “remind us of the power of storytelling to drive change” and that The Art of Managing Humans “ignites hope” and “provides a vision for a more compassionate and just world.”

Books for Humanity Global selected Abramovitch’s work for its Book of the Week Award, citing the book’s relevance in today’s work environments. According to the organization, “this isn’t a book about how to ‘run’ people. It’s a book about how to work with them, in real time, with real consequences.” The book’s approach was further described as “closer to field anthropology than a typical leadership manual,” grounded in “decades of field experience—not spreadsheets or slogans.”

The review also noted that Abramovitch’s “Seesaw Model” was built “not from a leadership seminar, but from decades of conflict, compromise, observation, and, crucially, failure.” Accordingly, the book is particularly applicable to “the middle layer of management” and helps address situations where “a call center sees an 80% staff turnover rate” and where “a shift in how direct managers engaged with team members on a personal level” resulted in measurable impact.

The OneTribune Media’s Book Excellence Award panel previously acknowledged the work for “its contribution to workplace culture through transparent practice, relationship building, and operational insight.” The award cited the book’s focus on “replacing work relations with working relationships.”

A review published on HR for Humans at Work describes The Art of Managing Humans as “a fresh approach to leadership, showing how fostering authentic relationships, transparency, and open communication between managers and employees can drive organisational success.” The reviewer frames Abramovitch’s book as a “people‑centric management blueprint” grounded in real‑world experience, and goes on to call it “a must‑read for leaders seeking to humanise their approach.” These observations reinforce the work’s central theme: management based on mutual attention, sustained dialogue, and shared respect, not abstract theory.

The book can be found on Goodreads and Amazon.
